New Summer 2022 Term Dates
We believe that physical fitness and well-being are paramount in today's health conscious society. Knowing that the general fitness of children attending your school will be of importance to you, our aim is to extend the curriculum of nurseries, kindergartens and playgroups by enhancing both the mental and physical awareness of the children in your care.
Cartwheels provide fully qualified BRITISH GYMNASTICS PRESCHOOL COACHES, all of whom are members of British Gymnastics. We offer a variety of challenging activities, a safe environment and the use of first class equipment & apparatus.
Our aims and objectives are to promote health and fitness whilst implementing a fun and educational lesson. The classes include a musical activity such as a “shape game” to increase body temperature, a dexterity skill such as “hoops or quoits”, gymnastic skills on a themed basis and finally a “cool down” to bring the children back to a relaxed manner.
Although the classes consist of group activities the children are encouraged to reach their own potential.
Parent & Toddler (18 months plus approx)
This is a class with parent participation. This session is a fun gymnastics class with a strong emphasis on social and motor skills and group involvement. It is centred around age appropriate movements using specialised equipment to aid their physical development. It is intended to help the children with their transition into the next class in which they will take part independently.
Preschool (3 years plus)
This class is designed to continue developing their skills without parent participation. Children will further expand their listening and learning skills. They will be using obstacle courses and age appropriate gymnastic elements in preparation for the National Curriculum.
Recreational Classes (4 years plus)
These classes will further challenge and develop the child's gymnastics skills. Following the British Gymnastics curriculum, the children will progress with vault, tumbling, bars and trampolining. The aim is to develop the child’s physical literacy through gymnastics - increasing their confidence and motivation for sport and physical activity, as well as their movement skills, flexibility, strength and coordination.
